Customer Furniture Policy

At Reduxwood, we take great care in preparing high-quality wood for our production. Since most of our wood is generally reclaimed from fresh water lakes, it is inherently more stable. Also the exotics that we source from Southeast Asia are salvaged and reclaimed.

After a period of months, sometimes years of air drying, the slabs are placed in a kiln for as long as it takes. From there, the wood is continually stabilized in our facility in Ho Chi Minh City. The moisture content can range from 8% to 12% depending on the time of year. All custom orders have a 3cm  – 5cm production tolerance for width and lengths.

It’s important to note that even though the wood is dried thoroughly, it is still a living organism that can breathe and absorb moisture. Depending on your home’s indoor settings, if the environment is too dry, the tabletop may produce small cracks. These cracks are perfectly normal and part of the process that the wood goes through. It’s important for customers to be aware of these realities, as they can impact the lifespan and appearance of the product.

To prevent the wood from drying out and cracking, we highly recommend using oil-based wood care products to moisturize the wood regularly. Additionally, it’s important to avoid placing handmade wooden furniture next to fireplaces or heating devices, as they can cause the wood to dry out and crack. By taking these steps, customers can ensure that their handmade wooden furniture from Reduxwood will last for years to come.
